Manufacture Date of S&W 6900 Series Autos

Hello! Below is a pic with my latest acquisition, a 6946 to compliment my 6906. I am curious of the manufacture dates. My 6906 has a Serial no. of VCR38XX and my 6946 has a Serial no. of TVS82XX. The 6906 is an ex-police pistol and my suspicion is that the 6946 is too. Can anyone this out for me without having to order the Catalogue of Smith and Wesson? Thanks in advance. Mike

Both appear to date to the early '90s. Call it '92 for the 6946 and '94-'95 for the 6906.
