Just a trip through the re-sizing die is all that's needed (plus a possible trim), or is a neck expanding operation gonna be required? Thanks!

A little more to consider. The .280 has a shorter neck, the result being that the shoulder on your cases once through the .280 die are going to be too far back to headspace in the .280 chamber. You will have a very tiny shoulder, not enough to depend on. You should be able to fireform them if you are careful and us a light load, but not a good plan. Probably best approach would be to run them through the .280 die, then a dose of fast powder, say Unique or most any shotgun powder, then fill them with cornmeal. Obviously, a huge mess is in the making unless you keep everything pointing straight up. Slip the cases full of cornmeal in the gun pointing straight up and fire. You should end up with cases that now can be safely reloaded with a bullet and light load to fully fireform into good .280 cases headstamped .270. You would be better off doing this with '06 cases, as you would get a bit more "shoulder" to work with initially and could skip the cornmeal step. I guess the answer to your basic question is no.

You can also fire-form them with light-loaded cast bullets seated long into the rifling to hold the case back against the bolt face.

OK, thanks! Sounds like the solution is to sell or use the .270 brass, and buy some .280 brass! I ain't doing THAT much work! :) :)
