On sportingarms.com, there is 3 version of the same gun - normal, -MA, and -FC. I assume MA is Massachusetts, because I recall something about that state and special laws. What are these laws, and does the MA mean this? What about the FC? I'm looking at the Sig P220.

Thanks!

Don't know about other manufacturers, but for SIG 'MA' does mean Massachusetts. It will have a little semicircle cut out at the back of the barrel hood to serve as a loaded chamber indicator, a second serial # and an extra bit of paper inside with warnings from the Mass. Atty General. It may have a fired case, but that is not required by Mass. law. Otherwise, it is the same as the plain brown wrapper version.

I'll bet that's the "Fired Case" package for NY and MD so the dealer can send it to the state for their 'ballistic fingerprint database' - which have NEVER matched a single weapon to a crime or criminal yet, and never will.
