I have a friend who has owned a spas 12 for about 10 years now and he is looking to sell it. The gun has probably 20 rounds through it and is in good condition.

What is the market like for these guns? What are some prices?

two year old fjestad blue book says $415, 100%. so less than that?

Current, prices on the auction sites for a used Franchi SPAS-12 range from $800-1200.

depends...Is this the folding stock model w/ hook? Does it have the later addition push button safety (compared to the faulty latch design) ? Does he have the box with original papers?

Gun value books just don't take into account the scarcity or appeal of some guns.

When something just isn't available due to high demand, no longer in production, or only a limited production means the prices rise.

I picked up a NIB folding stock SPAS-12 back in 96' for $500 only to have my brother trade it for a Mini-14 with a lot of accesories while I was overseas a year later. I couldn't replace it for what I paid, although I ended up selling the Mini with the accesories for $1000 to a guy who had to have during the AWB.
