S&W K and L Frame revolvers can be converted to shoot 9mm with moonclips. Would a .357 revolver converted to 9mm be legal in SSR, ESR or USPSA revolver divisions? Thank you.

Not in IDPA.

IDPA ESR requires power factor 165,000 = IPSC Major.
Tough to do in 9mm P, the USPSA 9mm Major Open shooters are pushing pretty hard.
You may not enter a cliploading revolver in SSR.
Plus, IDPA does not approve caliber conversions in general.
If it says .357 on the gun, you may not shoot 9mm in it.

There seems to be nothing against it in USPSA Revolver but I would check with Sedro Wooley before spending the money. Or maybe on Benos.com

I have never been convinced the .38/.357 to 9mm conversion is such a hot idea anyway.

How can a .355" 9mm bullet rattle its way down the excess length of the .380" dia .357 chambers without losing power to gas blow-by?

Then, how can it give even halfway decent accuracy going through the .357" chamber throats tilted or crooked, and travel down the .357 barrel that is too loose for it in the first place?
