I know I know, you guys are tired of hearing 9mm questions. Here is my beef, just got my G19, just got my dies, but I am waiting on my 115g berry's to show. I do have 100g .380 Berry's bullets and would like to use them in about a 100 rounds or so to get me through till the heavier bullet arrives. Load data in my manuals and what I can find online for Red Dot and Unique are as follows. 4.3-4.9 in Red Dot and 5.4-5.8 Unique, but that is adjusted data I came up with after seeing Jacketed bullet data. Does this sound right to you guys. Manuals don't have even load data at a round this lite for 9mm in lead. For what its worth I am shooting the same bullet out of a .380 with 4 grains of Unique behind it. Thanks in advance............

I think you'll have a lot better result with a fast powder like Bullseye, 231 or AA #2. There are others, but these are gold standards. If you're using Unique & Red Dot because it's on hand I understand and do that myself. If a heavy bullet uses X grains of powder ABC, the lighter bullet will likely be safe, but it's not an absolute (different bearing surfaces of lead versus jacketed slugs etc). Extrapolating loads is treading on thin ice at times; be cautious and look at every source you can before shoving off into the abyss. Then wear safety glasses and say a prayer to St. Jude... ;)

I use AA#7 in 9mm, but AA#2 will work.

if you are considering using the exact same bullet in both 9mm and .380, be very certain not to get your loaded rounds mixed together. a friend of mine fired a .380 through his 9mm TT33 and broke the firing pin, it having been extended 2mm to serve for a breechblock. and no, not his fault--the .380 was the only one in a box of 50 9mm "factory" reloads he had purchased that day.

One thing that is important is the overall length of the whole thing. You don't want to seat it too deep, which will cause too much pressure build up. I have Lee and Sierra reloading manuel. From what they have indicated, if you use a lighter bullet, you need to increase powder weight by a tiny bit. But the seating depth is unknown and that is not good. You need to compare the height of that bullet with a .380 first. That will determine the seating depth.

The one I reloaded last evening ended up at 1.088, I know the 115grain plated data stated MOL of 1.055.

The more I think about it the more I feel it is fine. Here are my reasons:
I can assume that 380 bullets are shorter that 9mm. If you load at 9mm depth then there are more space and less pressure. You loaded with seating height that means that the pressure will be even lower. If that is this the case then the worst case you will have is a hard to cycle round.
I used PB powder of 2.9 gr based of Hodgon's website for 124gr. All I can get is uncycled rounds. I have no bullets stuck in the barrel.
Look at some manual and see if you can confirm about lower weight bullet use more powder. If that is the case and your bullet seats higher then I don't think there is a problem.
The correct charge for PB is about 4.6 gr to start.
If my assumptions are wrong, please let me know.

What configuration of Berry's 115 grain bullet are you going to use? I use 5 grains of Winchester 231 with a Winchester SP primer and FC or Winchester cases.I use a COL of 1.106 for the 115 flat point and get around 1180 fps from my M&P with a 4.25 inch barrel. This load is little warm.I have also loaded 115 RN's with a length of 1.125. Your mileage may vary.

I have never loaded 100 grain bullets so I can't comment on that.
