Face Spatter When Firing-1911

The gun is a new unmodified TAURUS PT1911 Gov length.
When I fire it I feel something spattering my face. Not a lot, not painful but everyone who fires it feels it.
The barrel and barrel link look chinsey, really cheap looking. The link almost looks like it was stamped from sheet metal and wobbles on the pin.
After cleaning I reassembled it without the recoil spring and did the same with my Norinco 1911A1 to compare movement of the slides.
From full lock the Nork slide moves back just a little before the barrel starts to drop to unlock. The Nork has a Wilson Combat drop in barrel that Wilson installed and is a very nice shooter.
The new Taurus slide moves back a full 1/8 inch before the barrel 'begins' to drop to unlock.
When in full lock the barrel hood to slide fit looks good.
The spatter we feel happened with WWB 230gr FMJ, Aguila 230gr FMJ and my hand loads of 6.0gr of Unique behind Magnus 230gr JHP with 1.26 OAL which is a medium charge.
I have 440 rounds thru the Taurus. The Norinco has about 7000 to 10000 rounds thru it and runs great.
Any Ideas on what causes face spattering from a 1911A1?
Are there any stickies about this condition?

The Nork and the Taurus were both gifts from family members as was a new Lyman 1200DPS3 powder system. I want to sell the Taurus and the Lyman to help finance an Ed Brown Special Forces 1911A1. I am ready to make that move.

Thank Yous Much For Taking The Time

Is it lube?

Many times, the firing pin is overlubed for shipping and hammer hits will send up a spray of lube....
