Cast Bullet Handbook.......

Read it. Cover to cover. Twice. Then you'll have a good idea.

Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook is" the Bible" for wannabe casters. Buy it and spend the time reading it is very comprehensive on the subject.

All very wise advice. Lyman is the bible, get the handbook of cast bullets, and the reloading handbook, read both, over and over. Castboollits is a must.
Also the "ABCs of Handloading" is a great (if dated) book.
Good luck. Casting bullets is fun, saves megabucks, and allows you freedom from the bullet shortages we now have.

You are so right gearjammer. I told some friends not too long ago that if it wasn't for all the legal mumbo jumbo, a man couldn't go wrong in manufacturing powder, primers and bullets. Heck he could retire in a year or so and sell the company!!
