Pistol Packing Preacher Attacked By His Church
BlackManWithAGun

Here's some news you won't hear on CNN. Minister Kenn Blanchard, a.k.a. the BlackManWithAGun, was recently attacked for his pro-gun activities in his historic church of two thousand members in Washington, DC by the elder deacon and trustee board of the church. He was defended by his Pastor and brought to speak to one of his accusers with promise that he would get the opportunity to tell about the right to keep and bear arms to the leadership of this church. This was going to be a monumental event because either the joint board would become enlightened about the plight of the congregation or Blanchard would be stripped of his title as a minister in that church and have his license to preach revoked.
Last Sunday, allegations were brought to the church body during service to oust the pastor of the church for sexual misconduct to have him removed from the church. The senior deacons and trustees called the police and interrupted service in attempts to have the pastor and his pistol-packing young ministerial assistant removed. It didn't happen. After more tears and drama than a "Lifetime" movie can give, the dynamic duo remained to preach both services. Kenn is a former federal police officer and was able to de-escalate the situation with the crew of Metropolitan police officers that had been called in case he or his pastor were "going to go out in a blaze of glory".
The Washington Times (April) and Washington Post (Sept) recently profiled Kenn Blanchard for his beliefs in the right to keep and bear arms and his website www.blackmanwithagun.com actively slams the NAACP, which this church is a large supporter.
The battle is not over. Stay tuned and pray for the brothers. (Name of church and deacons withheld)

I'm really sorry to hear that. I felt pretty good about my church when I heard the senior pastor speaking negatively of gun laws ( I think he was referring to the AWB but I'm not sure). My sympathies.

Is this gentleman the same Kenn Blanchard that hosted or still hosts one of the radio talk shows "Black Avenger"? ?
Former LEO guy, with a wall of patches, badges, etc that other LEO's sent to him?
If so, he is a REAL American, with pretty darn good ideas, based on what I used to hear.

Minister Blanchard,
I pray that the Holy Spirit would convict, enlighten, and teach the children of the Lord in your congregation. I also pray that His power would strengthen you and keep you in this stressful time. I thank you for standing up for truth in a difficult situation and will continue to pray for you and your congregation.

First, Welcome to THR Mr. Blanchard!! You'll find a great group of like-minded folk here, dedicated to the natural and God-given Right To Keep And Bear Arms. Please keep posting and sharing your views with us as you seem to have a very unique and refreshing perspective in the community.
Second, I checked out your website briefly - very well done! You hit the nail on the head with #11, and you should put that one in BOLD type: CRIMINALS DON'T OBEY GUN LAWS!!
Sincere best wishes in your current struggles, and keep up the good fight!

I think Ken Hamblin is the "Black Avenger".
Used to hear him out of Chico when I was in Sacramento - hard to tune, but worth it - have not hard him in many many years.

My church runs the gamut from socialists to libertarians to 'restore family value Democrats' [sic] to 'save the children Republicans' [sic].
Thankfully so far the leadership has kept politics when not applicable to the mission of the church. Sorry about the mess you're in :(
If you ever make it out here, a bowl of scary Vietnamese food is on me :)

Are we jumping to conclusions here? The post is written about Ken Blanchard in the third person, which suggests that the poster is NOT Ken Blanchard, but perhaps is someone who admires him and picked that name for a handle here. Nothing wrong with that, but it would be nice to be clear about it.
What say you, sir? Are you Ken Blanchard or just one of us peons? ;)

Dear brother,
I appreciate your principled stand on the 2nd Amendment, and I am glad your pastor stood with you against the other leaders.
A question: Was the allegation of sexual misconduct against the pastor due to the leaders trying to kick him out because he stood up for you, or was it based on something else? Is there sexual misconduct on his part? (Which, of course, is an entirely different matter than the firearms issue.)
Integrity in the leadership of the church is extremely important. Guard yours.
In Christ,
Rich

It is me, Kenn Blanchard. I was feeling like Bob Dole there for a moment.
Thank you brothers. What you wrote means a lot to me. I will appreciate scriptures and prayers sent to my email address.
The allegations against my Pastor have been calculated and timed for the best affect. I don't believe them and support him.
I just heard the story broke on the local news so the word is coming out. I think after a failed attempt at stopping the service Sunday, the character assassination continues.
Don't put your faith in man family, it is the Creator who we look to.

That really sounds like an interesting church, in that I'm not used to that type of thinking in a congregation. I attend a large 2000+ member congregation in the honored sacred lair of Indiana. Hundreds of the Christian Soldiers in attendance on Sundays and Wednesdays are not only armed with the spiritual Sword of the Word (Hebrews 4:12) but are also carrying at least their primary carry weapon. As far as politics, The county Republican Sherrif is a member of the congregation. And my Federal congressional district is so far to the right, that Democrats and other liberals don't even run local, county and often not federal candidates. But the Libertarians always have a strong run.
Now why would a Christian pastor such as yourself be removed for your stance on RKBA?

Best of luck to you and the pastor. I pray the truth will win out and perhaps some of the deacons and elders will be removed.

I've never been counted among the faithful but you certainly have my best wishes and support. We live free in this country largely due to the Christian values it was founded on and I support any church with those that have the good sense to think. You're doing your part and lets hope others see the light.

Kenn, remind the flock of the most neglected passage in scripture, Luke 22, on the final night Jesus spent in the garden, when he told his disciples that if they didn't have swords, they should sell their very cloaks to buy them, because they would need them for protection on the roads after He was gone? Just put Luke 22 right in their faces.

And yet one more here in Missouri! I'm expecting a bit of fallout from my own parishioners when it becomes widely known where I stand on the issue.
There's always a price to be paid for standing on the side of truth and light. The prince of the air will naturally lean the hardest upon those who are the farthest from him. My father lost the best years of his own ministry when he stood with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Alabama some four decades ago. The fights that are the hardest to win are those most worth fighting.
One of the most tragic ironies of our battle to finally get CCW in this state is that the prohibition against it is one of the last foul vestiges of Jim Crow. Yet, the strongest opponents to the new law are the residents of the inner city. In time the scales will fall from their eyes also.
We lift you and yours up in prayer every day Brother Blanchard.
May the Good Lord bless you and watch over you always. Amen.

Brother Kenn,
A general favorite - Romans 8:28
My personal favorite - Psalm 37:1-2 (I know it's wrong, but I can't help it. I like the concept of retribution being doled out liberally to evildoers)
Stand tall, know that God provides, and watch your six (Judges 7:5-7)
Sincerely,
Michael

revlar, start teaching them, slowly. They didn't get brainwashed all at once, and they wont' get educated all at once. Try to dump it all on them in one big load, and they'll run you out of town on a rail. You will have accomplished NOTHING. Lead them along slowly - you can't run sheep!

As person who has begun re-attending church for about a year, after a long break, it is my observation that most 'men-of-the-cloth are more interested in 'herd management' than preaching the Word and the attendent development of conscience and individuation.
Keep the faith, brother. History, Natural Law, Scripture, and God are with you (rather, you are with them). Most likely your church has its roots in the Protestant Reformation. Protestantism survived and flourished only because of the willingess of the believers to take up arms in defense of their faith and church. This is historical fact that is being eradicated by the Marxist-secular onslaught for the revisioning of history.
Wars fought by Protestants for the defense of the faith:
The Revolution of the United Provinces against Spain (almost 100 years).
The Thirty Years War in The Holy Roman Empire.
The English Revolution of 1642-8 and subsequent bloodless Glorious Revolution.
The American Revolution (as shown by Kevin Phillips in his book The Cousin's Wars this was a sort of English Revolution re-match)
The American Civil War (again, read The Cousin's Wars, round III).
Forgotten heroes that helped to establish our modern liberties and freedom of worship: Gustavus Adolphus, Oliver Cromwell, Prince William of Orange, and many many dead forgotten Dutch, Swedish, German, English, Scottish, etc. commoners. The RKBA is a battlement of our mighty fortress.
Let me be clear. Up until the Satanic Unleashing of the Sixties Protestantism and firearms ownership were virtually synonomous. Read the English Bill of Rights of 1689! History cannot be denied.
I appreciate your struggle, sir. Even for me, a Mensan, son of colonel, student of history, and priviliged white-boy discovering and understanding this eradicated history took a lot of reading, intellectual mining, and reflection on history. As an African-American you are at even greater remove from discovering that the laudatory history of ARMED and FIGHTING Protestantism is YOUR legacy too! It is the blessed legacy of all who keep the faith and values of America-the armed and free. YOU ARE ONE IN THE BODY WITH CHRIST AND HIS BATTLING EUROPEAN AND AMERICAN SERVANTS-BOTH ALIVE AND LONG FORGOTTEN!
And, blessedly, you are not just the fortunate son of history, but having been blessed with grace you are as His child and inheritor.
I wish you the best in educating your fellow clergy and congregation. I personally try to invite someone every week to shoot trap/skeet after church. Now the weather is cooler, there are some takers. A little at a time, the sheep are coming back in the fold ;)

Ken,
When political ambition gets in our way of worship, common occurrences like this will happen.
The congregation seems more interested in the activities and extortions of the NAACP than what God has to say.
They have taken their eye offs the Shepard and are gazing upon the wolf.

Peace be upon you all,
The Lord is still in control. My assault was overshadowed by the nuclear blast the Enemy sent to our church in condemnation and allegations of our pastor. Now his "armor bearer" is trying to help support him through this time. Thank you all for what you have sent to me here.
We do win in the end. Thanks bro. I changed a few things on my site, to help folks understand how a minister could support what we do. Let me know what you think of it. Its under the articles link.
Got an interview coming on FoxNews out of Baltimore, MD (channel 45) being broadcast on Monday, November 3rd that will be shown on other FoxNews networks across the nation (I was told) so let me know if you see it. They are doing a feature on me and it looked like it was going to be a positive portrayal. (which if it makes the edits should help us all nationally).
