I haven't been able to get into the HS2000 / Springfield XD forum for some time. I did a search to see if anyone had mentioned maintenance or some other problem, but found nothing. Does anyone have info on the forum's status?

I've been getting in through this link: http://www.hs2000talk.com/. I know there is a SA-XD link, but it escapes me at the moment.

That's the address I have bookmarked. No go from my bookmark or from the link you just posted.

Can you get to the forum from the above link as of right now?

I just tried again and it is still working for me. See if this works for you: http://64.81.190.214/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi

Nope. I've checked my security settings, etc. I even went to another machine in the building to see if I could get on. No luck.

Could it be our office net connections - proxy or something - that's causing it? I also tried pinging 64.81.190.214 and the request timed out.

Wierd.

www.hs2000talk.com works for me. Just tried it. Are you trying to access from your workplace? Maybe your LAN administrator has blocked access to site that have politically incorrect content. That's about the only thing I can think of. Good luck.

The XD sure looks tempting. Did anybody see the matchup in "Handguns" Annual 2004? XD vs Glock.

the XD is a killer gun. Very nice, and worth a try. Go to a range and fire one. I have the .40, although I hear the 9 is just as nice. One thing I don't like is that the finish seems fragile, but I dont care. The thing works great, and that's what matters when the BG is comin for ya.

FWIW, I use cheap as hell ammo for practice. (Cal-ammo reloads, 6.80 a box) and I've had absolutely NO malfunctions of any kind.

You can also use the .40 mags in the 9, and fit 15 rounds I believe. Useful for us in the peoples republic of california.

KT-P32: Yeah, I read that article... pretty pointless, nothing new stated in it.

Um, yeah, the XD is new... um, Glock is older and proven (used a Gen 2 version in the article)... um, both combat accurate... um XD is new... Not much else...

I had the IS guys check, and the site is not blocked from my end. Could someone post the contact info for me so I can drop the site admin for HS2000talk.com a line and see if there's something on that end that's screwy.

Thanks!

Check (discreetly) with your LAN administrator. I bet your company, (I assume you are trying this at work) has the parental controls set. I also bet that they have listed all gun sites (that they can think of or that have been recently accessed) as being "pornographic"!! I also am willing to bet that you work for a company that has a "no guns in the workplace" policy!!

Feel free to correct me on any of these points. :D

It's not the parental controls 'cause I can go to Tom Gresham's site ( www.guntalk.com ) which would surely be blocked just because of the name.

It's definitely something with our setup, though. I contacted our service provider and they have no restrictions set up on our access. I guess I'll just wait until I can catch the sys admin around the coffee pot and see what his input is.
