I have enough bladders but need a lighter Camelbak carrier...where can I get just the carrier?

By carrier do you mean the various packs and stuff in which Camelbak hydration bladders reside? I don't know of any place that sells them sans hydration pack. Best bet is to contact your local CB dealer to see if he/she will sell a pack to you sans hydration bladder.
Otherwise, there are various packs that are "hydration system ready" -- they've got the sleeve, tube opening and tube guide but no hydration system. My new Kelty Velocity daypack is like that. You'd like it, it has a faux carbon-fiber type pattern on the helmet net. :D

jhuang, can you send me a pic of the helmet? :o
I need a SMALLER pack not a bigger one..I can always get the Becker pack I wanted but am using a HAWG and want to go smaller.

OK, I'll unlimber the digital camera and post some pics. Not only does the daypack feature a CF-type pattern, so does my bike helmet :D
Back to your other question ... how much smaller than a HAWG? The (old) HAWG holds only 830 in^3 ... not many packs on the market that are smaller than that (except for the MULE or equivalents). I'll have to flip through my Campmor catalog to see if there are any tiny packs that are hydration compatible -- but if I had to guess, I would say there are not.

If you just want a carrier with no storage I have the Spec-Ops HUMP and the Blackhawk STRIKE units. Have used both with good results. I like the STRIKE since the webbing makes a great platform to attach pouches, etc but is a little larger.

I dont think you will have a lot of luck finding camelback packs sans bladder, they just dont make them. However it is pretty much SOP for the back pack manufacturers to include a hydration pouch in there packs now. I would look into a Gregory or Osprey product. Also i believe Cloudveil or The Nothe Face is now making a waterproof/breathable back country jacket that also has hydration built in. Look around at some of the mountaineering and backpaking sites, i think you will be suprised at what is out there.

Not to hijack the thread but the whole hydration built into the jacket thing does not work. Several years ago I had a seamstress make me a vest for work with a pouch for a bladder. It didn't work so hot. I just got a new ski jacket from Orage that has the hydration pouch built in and it just doesn't work.
I am switching all my Camelback to Da Kine because the bladders are made by Nalgene and will hopefully be less icky than Camelback.
