I am still thinking about a .45 and have been looking at these two. Which would you chose for concealed carry and why?

I have handled both the CS and a Glock 30. Advantage, IMO, to Glock.
The G30 is lighter, carries 10+1 (9+1 until magazines are broken in), and fits my hand better. Both point well and perceived recoil is not much different between the two. I don't like screwing around with a safety when I need/want to shoot.
If you want something even more compact, try the G36. Fewer rounds, smaller and lighter than either the Smith CS or the G30.
The Smith isn't a bad pistol, the Glock just suits my tastes a little better.
Pick one of each up and handle them some. Go with the one the feels best to you.

Personally, I like the choice of manual safety that the S&W gives you. S&W also has fantastic customer service. But the I the CS9 is the sweet spot in that line (20.8 ounces) and dealers sell tons of them.
My CS9 has about 800 rounds through it, with good accuracy and zero problems. Nice sights, trigger takes a good 200 rounds to break in.
It is pretty critical to make sure any such pistol fits you, though. I've started carrying a S&W 3913 because it's just a lot more comfortable and not that much bigger or heavier. You get a lot more capacity and less weight with a 9mm carry pistol over .45.
