Wanted: Nice K-Frame Holster

I am looking for a nice K-Frame holster. I am not looking for the cheapest thing out there, nor am I looking for something made from exotic animal hide. I do want very nice quality. I am not pinching pennies but don't think I need to spend $400 for it either. Something that is a joy to look at and something that I would be proud to show off. Must be leather. It should be a stong side belt holster for a 4 inch barrel. It will be used for open carry of Model 66, Model 19, and various model 10s. I suppose I also need one for the 6" model 19, the 17, and the 617.
Any recomendations.

Welll...for me it was a really good price. What can I say I'm cheap. :D But when I got it, I was suprised by the overall quality, condition and good looks. The visual appeal and rugged ultility seem to be a good match for a model 19 or 66. And I've always been a fool or basket weave holsters.

I have a new black leather holster that has an open bottom. It will hold any barrel length. I never used it, if your interested I'll sell it cheap. I can do a pic if needed. It's from Old World leather and it's made in Italy.

My M66 rides nice and high and tight in a Don Hume belt holster, and a good stiff Carhartt belt, all for about $50.

Try Dillon, Don Hume, Kirkpatrick Leather or El Paso Saddlery.

El Paso Saddlery is exactly the type of stuff I was thinking about. But, in this case, they don't have anything that really pulls my chain. I am surfing the various web pages on the net. So far I like the Milt Sparks HSR but am continuing the search.

It's hard to beat Safariland, Bianchi, or Don Hume real leather!

Desantis and Allessi can be had from www.rfholsters.com
They both make good products, with the Allessi holsters being pretty close to custom rigs.

I ordered a holster today. I appreciate all the help and advice, but nothing mentioned really pulled my chain.
I ordered a Milt Sparks #200AW with a straight drop in sharkskin along with a matching belt.
Unfortunately, they don't make a matching speedloader, speed strip, ammo loops or any spare ammo stuff. I guess I will have to order something in plain black leather.

But Sparks makes great stuff, too.

Probably the finest carry holster for the K frame is the 002 from DeSantis.
It has been an issue holster for many Federal LEO's for decades. It's the original, born in the early seventies, and imitated by many. Call DeSantis @ 800 GUNHIDE for a JPG of the model for the 4" K. www.holster.com the web shows only 002's for the autoloaders.

There are quite a few good holster makers out there. But just to check that you asked Sparks if they could make something for spare ammo??? I know they have the skill to do it, and have made special mag pouches for me in the past. If I remember right they use to catalog drop pouches & speed strip pouches.......
In any case, there are quite a few good places to go to, especially if you want black leather, which looks good too........
