Has anyone here ever purchased a barrel from Riley Smith at long hammock barrels in florida? I called him on june 8th, and he had a barrel in 78 caliber i wanted. On the 9th, he quoted me a price, and I sent him the money express mail. the next week, I didnt recieve the barrel, and when I called, he said he ships on fridays, and it would go out that day. Now, its the 30th, and i called last week to see what happened, and one of his employee's said he would call me. A whole day went by, and I called back. The same employee got smart with me on the phone and said. " he'll call you when he gets around to it". Now I have the post office tracking the money order down that I sent him, and the postal inspector is gonna get involved. Dont know what else to do. He had the barrel laying there, but he doesnt seem to want to send it!:fire:

I have several Long Hammock barrels and can attest to the fact that they are excellent barrels. Riley is an honest businessman and will not cheat you. Granted, he can be slow sometimes but he will send you the items that you order. Last year, I ordered a barrel from him and he had one like I wanted in stock. All that was required was a bit of custom machining and then ship it to me. It took almost 6 months to get my barrel. However, in Riley's defense, he has a LOT of work that goes through his shop and he makes a lot of barrels for manufacturers of guns so he seems to get to your order when he can. You just take a number and wait. I just factor that into the equation when I am building a gun using a Long Hammock barrel. They are worth the wait. Riley is a good man and an honest businessman. Just try to be patient with him like I do.
