Just checked the Idaho F&G and they put up the results for the Elk, Deer, Antelope, etc controlled hunt drawing, this afternoon.

http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/apps/ch/results.cfm

I and my two buds were not drawn.

Looks like we'll hunt the General Seasons. Can't be all bad. Plenty of game up in the mountains.

Good luck to others who put in for Idaho elk, deer, etc.

:neener::neener:Thanks for the link, I drew antlerless deer 49, right behind my house and antlerless elk 48-2 out warmsprings where I got my first elk last year. Woo-hoo, time to put on the hiking boots. I'll be hiking up there frequently from now until then. Jeff

Thanks for the link, Leanwolf!

Looks like I drew two tags: speedgoats in Owyhee County and antlerless deer up the hill from here.

I don't really know squat about hunting pronghorns, but I guess I'll have to learn... Really don't know much about hunting these mulies, either...

Hey Jeff- how did you get that elk out of the mountains last year?

Hi Bear, my buddy and I packed it out in one trip in freighter pack frames in the slippery snow. I think the only thing that would have helped would have been a horse. He carried the 2 hind quarters still together and I carried the loin, tenderloin, 2 de-boned front shoulders and the head as evidence of sex. I can't wait, the hard work actually begins now getting in tip top shape.

I thought you said you didn't hunt upland birds because it seemed like a weight-loss regimen. That sounds even harder.:)

It was hard alright but fun too. After it all we had 100# of table ready meat and was well worth it.

we can't even find any forked horns in unit 40
they are all too BIG now
it used to be that they were all to small
