Well the Brits and their allies were better fed then the Continentals, but if we restricted it to skinny folks under 40, you'd have only about 10% of the current reenactors. :what:

No LD, I was just a spectator, all the reenactors there did a fine job and I had a great time.

Not sure which is Molly and which is Betsy though.

Seriously, Molly was at the Battle of Monmouth Courthouse where she "manned" her husband's cannon after he was felled.

Thank you for sharing the pictures. I've never been to Monmouth or Brandywine, Chadd's Ford, Valley Forge, Philadelphia. That's a big gap in my travels.

There's a lot of history in this area for sure. I plan to go to Gettysburg tomorrow if I don't feel to bad when I get up. Big doins up there this weekend:)

Which on of those girls would you date ?
Fought at Monmouth Battle Field many times w/ the NJ Militia and Morgan's Riflemen....always had a good time. Washington actually had his horse die under him there due to the extreme heat of the day during the actual battle. Many British also expired on the field due to heat stroke wearing those wool coats. The stream running parallel with the Cherry Tree orchard was lined with bodies. Largest single battle fought in the American Revolution I believe.
Another interesting note was, American artillery was firing on british regulars who took refuge in some of the orchards...grape shot was fire into the orchard exploding the trees with causalties and deaths being taken from the exploding wood.....Nasty.

I believe the Battle of Brandywine involved the largest number of troops in the Revolution.
