I am having some warranty work done on a S&W 642 and plan on having a performance trigger job done while the handgun is at the factory and the company is paying for the shipping. How well does S&W do on these trigger jobs? I am hoping this greatly smooths out the stiff trigger. I think it is a fair price for $75.00. I also have the option between adding a red ramp front sight because the XS tritium night sights don't seem to be an add on option.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks.

The advantage of having S&W do the work is that the whole gun will be inspected, and ANYTHING they find that's wrong will be corrected. There is a lot more to getting a decent trigger pull then stoning and polishing some internal lockwork and switching out this or that spring. What you get back will be much smoother, but not necessarily a lot lighter. But unlike some jobs the gun will go BANG!! when you pull the trigger, and this reliability won't require that you use a certain brand of primers. I would say have at it... ;)
