Does anyone have a good load for Rainier 200 gr FN bullets. I found load data on THR but the loads seem a little high. I'm using Hodgdon HS-6.

Start at 8.0 Grs HS-6 with the Ranier 200 Gr plated bullet. It should give you somewhere in the area of 750ish FPS +/-. What was the data you found on THR?

I would recommend W-231 over HS-6 with plated bullets in .45.

Got loadbooks? :)

Plated bullets don't act like lead nor jacketed. You don't have to limit yourself to lead data, but can't blindly use jacketed data either.

Here is a link (http://www.thehighroad.org/showpost.php?p=5399850&postcount=8) to some plated data. Hope it helps. Here is another link to the old Midway plated data (http://web.archive.org/web/20050502124831/http://www.rainierballistics.com/loaddataMW.htm) from the Ranier site. It shows HS-6 data with Ranier bullets, including that 200 Gr FP you have. (TrFP)
