I just picked up a Romanian TTC and have noticed a recurring problem with the slide lock release leaver. Sometime it works perfectly and other times the darn thing won't budge for the life of me. Dose anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Should I just go buy a new leaver and spring or what?

Check for interference with the magazine. I had one mag that interfered with the lever not letting me close the slide. I forget if I had to file the top or bend the side of the mag to fix the problem, but it was pretty easy and obvious once I put the lever in the frame without the slide and inserted the magazine.

Check for burrs too.

Had looked at several Romanian M1969 trainer rifles and fould burrs on the extractor claws.

That must be it then because it works fine when no mag is in.
