22 Magnum in J-Frame...What are my options?

I'm looking for a Smith & Wesson 22 Magnum revolver in J-Frame...not necessarily limited to current production, willing to consider the "experienced" market. What are my options?

I've seen the Airlite snubbie on their website. But I'm especially interested in a J-Frame stainless, if they ever made one. Or even an Airweight with 3" barrel, maybe?

I already have a very nice Ruger Single 6 in 22 Magnum, and I love it, but the 5" barrel doesn't do much for concealed carry. I'd like to complement my Ruger with a more compact 22 magnum, and I like the S&W J-Frame platform.

Ideas?

The original .22-32 Kit Gun .22 WRM was the Model 51, standard with a 3.5" barrel only. The later stainless version was the Model 651. I think there were fixed and adjustable sighted versions of the 651.

In current production there is the 351 PD. 10.something ounces, seven shots, 1 7/8" barrel. The MSRP is $800 something, so I'd guess retail would be around $600-650.

I've been considering one (also a 317 is on the wish list) to be partnered up with my 360. They would also make a dandy pocket gun for walking the woods during snake season.

I have an unfired 651 4" that I'm thinking of selling but upon checking the going prices I don't know who in hell would pay 700+ for one????

Look for a (used) S&W Model 650 - just what you're looking for.

Can a .22lr J frame be converted to to .2WMR?
I suppose it could with a new cylinder & barrel.

The .22 Mag bore size is larger then a .22 RF.

In the end, it would cost way more then to just buy a .22 Mag to start with.

I bought a model 51 new, ordered it & waited 4 months for it. Wanted it to carry while hunting groundhogs. Kept it less than a month and bought a 38 spl. Don't think I have ever shot a revolver which hurt my ears more.....To me, it's report was sharper than a 357.

I have a 51. Sweet! I HAD a 351, not so much. Even after a trip back to the factory it was still hit or miss with Winchester ammo, though they got it 100% with CCI. It's more of an SD gun than a trail gun. Save your money and look for a 51 or 651, you'll be happy you did.
