I'm sure it's been asked 100 times before but a search just brings up alot of Mossberg or Maverick questions and I couldn't find one actually asking that one. If they are, which model numbers are they. If not, sorry for adding to the post list.

That depends. Some parts are, some aren't. What're you looking to do?

"Most" parts are.
The Maverick is a slightly modified, less expensive version of the Mossberg 500.
The major differences are the Maverick has the safety on the trigger guard and the Mossberg has it on the top-rear of the receiver.
The Maverick has a plastic fore arm molded on the action bar assembly, the Mossberg fore arm can be removed from the action bar assembly with a special wrench.
Barrels, stocks, and most internal parts are interchangeable, but not all.

Everything on the Mossy 500 can be used on the Mav 88 'cept the actual forearm furniture and the safety. The Mav 88 uses a one piece forearm/action slide tube assembly that can't accept extra aftermarket forearms. You *can* however, put the Mossy action slide tube onto a Mav and then use all the aftermarket forearms you want as long as your slide tube is the right length. *ALL* parts from a Mav 88 will fit a Mossy 500....but if you put a Mav trigger group onto a 500, the 500's tang safety won't be functional without an extra trigger group part or two.
