I'm looking for something for carrying a mid sized auto in the summer, hiking, etc.

Those of you who have used fanny packs, what makes and models do you recommend?

Probably the fastest to use is the Eagle WFP and the Blackhawk 5-5-10.
The Blackhawk is a close copy of the Eagle, but is improved with a better added back. The 5-5-10 refers to being able to draw and fire 5 shot in 5 seconds at 10 yards.

I've had two Blackhawk's, they're very good, and probably the fastest I've ever tested. They also look a little less like a gun pack than many others.

Good price and the thing I like best is that it doesn't look like a holster fanny pack. I've worn fanny packs for years before getting my license and you can tell the differences. I've also used a Marmot fanny pack with a holster fitted into the rear compartment area. Not as easy to access that one.
