Beretta 92, it requires no recoil enhancing device because the barrel doesn't tilt, and the stock barrels generally stick out far enough to be threaded.

My gun nut friend owns a Beretta military model with a silencer on it made for pilots. It even had a lever on it to make it single shot with no ejection of the round either, for additonal quietness and no loose casing laying around. It would work both ways. It was very neat. It had one of the finest silencer made on it also and I think it was made in florida. It had replaceable rubber typle noise absorbers. It was good for about 25 rounds of silencing...

No, he's not making it up. The can is probably a Knight's Armament design from the mid-1970s. They did cans like that back then. Wipes have been obsolete for about 20-25 years, though. That can might have been state-of-the-art in 1975, but today? It's as modern as an Apple II.

Some thoughts on the best pistol for a suppressor in 9x19.

1) A pistol that allows for easy changing of the sights to taller versions to see over the suppressor body.

2) A pistol that can handle more carbon fouling due to the increased back pressure associated with the suppressor.

3) A pistol that does not have a fixed barrel as it may be hard to replace the barrel with an extended model that can be threaded.

4) A pistol where barrels swaps are easy, so one has the option of the threaded barrel or a stock barrel. This may be mitigated if the threaded barrel has a thread protector to attach when the suppressor is not attached.

5) A pistol that is often used by suppressor designers.

Based on the above list, I would go with a Glock, probably a 17 or 34. Sights are there, barrels are there, and Glocks run dirty as well as any other gun. Plus, Glock support is decent, especially compared to H&K. Yes, the Glock needs a Nielsen device or LID, but lots of suppressors have been designed to work with the Glock.

I'd say if it's not too big, get the TP9, which is a remade Steyr SPP, which was a semi-auto version of the Steyr TMP.

the action is internal and does not rely upon movement of the barrel. Thus, I wouldn't expect reliability to be an issue, and with 30 round mags, this would be a sweet, sweet home defense weapon.

My old man has a Steyr SPP, and it is an amazing weapon, extremly accurate. Only downside is the new TP9 costs bout as much as an AR, and right now, I'd probably rather take an AR-15 in 6.8 with a 12.5 inch barrel.

I just wanted to point out that putting a forward grip on a handgun is a major no no. I like the Beretta 92 for suppressors for reasons already mentioned.
