I had my Mika round cut pocket holster for my 642 in my Cannondale pannier and my $1,000 bicycle setup was stolen outside of a grocery store last night.:banghead::cuss: I know the holster is all that is gun related, but I'm still in my pissed-off venting mode.

The bike was locked (u-lock through frame and wheel), but not to a stationary object since there was nothing by the door to lock it to. No security cameras.:cuss:

Lesson: Don't leave a holster in your bike bag (and never with a gun in it for those of you that may do that on occaision - I didn't by the way).

I have a very nice cyclocross bike and a very nice road bike, around $4000 invested all together. They never leave my sight when out of my house, and they never get left alone.

I know you probably worked hard for the bike, but drive a Huffy and you won't have this problem again.

My guess is the lock was placed to keep someone from riding off on the bike (wheel won't turn), but the thief just picked it all up and tossed it in the back of his pickup truck.

Reminds me of the locking Igloo cooler on Pitchmen...

Sure you can lock the cooler, but if someone wants it, they can just carry it away. The inventor looked genuinely dumbfounded, as if he truly had never thought of that before...

Sorry about your loss, file an insurance claim, and chalk it up to experience.

Do check Craigslist in your area, as well as local schools, it may show up... it's a long shot, but better than what the police will do for you.

It's hard not to take the theft of a valuable item personally, but believe me, go the insurance route, be more careful next time, and be thankful it was only chattel... and can be replaced.

Hard to tow a bike around a grocery store.

I'll ride a Huffy if you'll shoot a Hi-Power.:neener:

No insurance. State Farm refused to write a renter's policy for me when I asked. I should have left them then, but I leave them tomorrow. I already have it set up.

If I want another Mika holster, I'm going to have to wait weeks.:banghead:
