I was stumped the other day when a friend called to say that he has Hornady & Silver State brass with small pockets and Remington with large pockets ?. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hornady and SSA switched to the SR to give the head more brass to make it stronger. Other then that I have found no difference in the reloading of them.

I have only used the Remington brass with LR primers since I finally found a large supply and was considerably cheaper. I have loaded 5 times so far with RL10x and Remington 9.5 primers and Sierra Pro Hunter 110 gr. bullets through my AR and have been relatively pleased. I may purchase some of the other brass in the future, but have not had any problems with the LR primers and the weak head issues.
