Terrance Cox Knives anyone?

I have been given a Terrance Cox knife. It looks like one of those "sports store customs" is what I call them. You know, obviously not a true custom knife, but more custom looking than a off the shelf Buck or CRKT or whatever...Blade is simply marked Terrance Cox on one side, 440C on the other and the marks are laser etched not roll marked like most customs I have seen.
I feel it is probably worth about $75.00 or so if that but if anyone knows better please let me know. Blade is about 8in long, a nice design which I think looks like a fighter of some kind. It had a beautiful set of scales on it with a nice little center sheild which looks as if made form abalone and wood. The scales are some sort of exotic wood....full tang. I'll have a pic tomorrow.

laser etched not roll marked
most makers etch theirs in using a stencil , though some stamp them in. I would check bladeforums or perhaps any of the other knife forums , knifenetwork.com , etc.

That looks to be more than a $75 knife!
Can you get a closeup of the name?

It just says Terrance Cox on one side, then 440c on the other. Terrance is spelled with an A after the rr which is weird. But normal for Aussies?

I'd have to agree with hso. It looks to be a well made knife. That little shield is actually a mosaic pin.

That is a good looking knife!
I tried doing a few Google searches and came up empty handed.

You might have a nice $300+ knife on your hands there. Be nice to it.

That looks like a custom to me, and hso is right about the value.

Don,
Doesn't that look like desert ironwood?
Sniper,
Give us a picture looking down onto the edge right at the ricasso where the edge stops. I want to see how even the shoulders are in that 2 inches on each side of the guard.
Also, a clear picture focused on the name, please.

Great stuff Guy's! Ill take some detailed close ups this weekend and post them on Monday. Thanks all for all the great information. I plan to have a nice sheath made for it and give it to my son along with a nice old Rolex I have for his graduation. He shares my love for knives!

for a great sheath , check out Sandy Morissey or Paul Long , very nice work.
Also , seeing as you are from New Mexico , contact Lucas and see if there is anyone in NM making sheaths , Lucas might be able to suggest someone close.

It does look like Ironwood. That, the bolsters and mosaic pin probably added $200 to the knife.
