I was looking at the Arredondo website for mag parts for my Para, they havethe baseplates, springs and followers, but they also list a insert. Anyone know what it's for? Is it necessary for the magazine to function?

well, you could put it back together without it, but it would be very difficult to take it back apart without really bending the spring up.
I imagine this is a part to ease assembly and disassembly.
I've never questioned what it was for, i just know they work, and work well.
