Remington 7400 sling mounting?

I just picked up a nice remington 7400 used for a good price. This thing is basically like new. i put a low power scope on it and intend to finish out this hunting season with it.

My question is how to mount a sling for the front end???

Don't they have a little ring on the front end cap for you to attach a QD swivel to?
If not you can get one at www.brownells.com

Attach it to a Harris Bipod on the mount at the front of the gun that has too big a scope on it and an 870 pistol-grip buttstock...?

The price on that Uncle Mike's set can't be beaten. An alternative, though, is to drill a horizontal hole in the original cap and tap it for the swivel screw.
