Actually, .45 Colt dies can be used to reload .454.
But not always the other way around.

The seating / crimp die in a .454 die set may be too long to crimp .45 Colt.

It's like the .38 Special / .357 Mag & .44 Spl / .44 Mag thing years ago.

You bought the shorter .38 Spl or .44 Spl dies to load both.

My 454 dies will adjust short enough for the .45 Colts but a quick check on line says some will and some won't.

I guess the OP should give it a shot and let us know.
