Went on an evening mission monday night when my friends brother in law seen this guy and a few of his friends rooting around in the valley next to his pasture. Went home and grabbed a couple dogs and the chase was on. My friend (pictured) was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, poor guy stopped a half a second too long to see if the coast was clear coming out of the valley. Dogs were about 5 seconcs behind also. BTW, pig was taken with an old .30 cal M1 carbine. A favorite of hawaii pig hunters, due to a surplus after the war. 1st shot broke the front leg, second was put into his neck. Hawaii pigs dont get near as big as they do on the mainland.....but this guy is close to trophy size for us. Weighed 190 on the hanging scale.
Aloha!!
