And here is my Kentucky .54 in stage 7 of Tru-Oil process of at least 20 coats . It won't be shiney when done , buff .
I made all the brass on the Kentucky Antique Black already, so it will be gun metal blue , CCH , and Black brass , as will the Bounty . :D
German Silver Inlays , oooohhhh ahhhhhhh , this is like the Kentucky Silver Star plus plus plus now . :D

No problem there , I always need more critics anyway , keeps my work honest and my motivation high to do better work always .
You should try some of that inlay stuff some time , not easy . The back two inlays have four seperate bends and the convex too to fit the stock back by the lock . I used my trusty Harley half pipe header agian , auto body shapeing heads and my brass hammer .

I'd have to eyeball the process to get a good idea of going about it. Nearly half of it is getting a feel for the tool's work on the media and learning the feel of what you're trying to achieve. Then, it's a matter of learning whether you have the Almighty given aptitude for actually doing it. :D

and you build bows from hand , you can inlay my man . :D
Repetitive skill too in this , the more you do , the better you get , or you suck from the beggining and never get better , hee hee hee hee .
I am far from mastering this one let me tell ya . Most inlays I have done have been wood inlays into wood , you know diamond shapes and stuff inalyed into cheekpeices , forarms etc, but my metal fab on inlaying it is minimal in my life . Its challenging thats for sure . It is allot of fun though , even if they aint perfect .
It reminds me of the info-mercial about the Bedazzler, the machine that Bedazzles Pants and shirts with rhinstones and such :D . That is what goes through my twisted mind when I am making a gun up to this level . :D
Then there is my thoguths of why not make your gun into art too while your at it . It can look cool and shoot , bonus . Plus the monetary value of the work is astronomical after your done, making the gun very valuable , to you .
I used Gorrilla Glue Epoxy on the inlays too , tough stuff man .

That Bounty Hunter is dreamy! ;)
But it does look like a prime candidate for a detachable buttstock with about a 14 inch LOP!
I'm just funnin' with you! :neener:
It does sort of remind me of a "Buntline" though, and I'm sure that you're going to have a lot of great fun making smoke with it. Enjoy! :)

and your right , it would be a prime candidate for the Navy Moll treatment or the 1855 Dragoon front stuffer Pistol wouldn't it ! :D
Don't get me going on that idea , I got enough projects :D
It would be pretty cool though :)

Oh... I'm not saying I can't... I'm simply acknowledging some of what I see as things to take into consideration when attempting to learn something new. I find that if I find myself the right person to teach me something... I'm able to learn it and hold my own.
Doin' stuff with my hands is in my genes... from both sides of the family. That sure don't hurt none. :D
BTW... the downsizing pix process is really slow going tonight (for some reason). May have to reboot... but, I did take some more pix.
