Hi!

I am new to The High Road and hope you can help me. The hand spring broke on my 357 Dakota made by Jager. I have not been successful finding a source from EMF the importer/distributor, who they passed me along to or any other source on the web that I could find. Anyone know a source for me? If not, is this something I should refer to a gunsmith? Can I make my own?

Any guidance would be appreciated! (Using the gravity method to engage the hand is not the sort of elegant solution I am looking for.)

Thanks,

Lyonheart

Anyone with this problem or a similar one with Jager Replica SAA hand spring assemblies, this is your lucky day! I can save you about three weeks of searching and consulting with gunsmiths to get a solution. You have two choices:
1. A SAA gunsmith can put a coil spring plunger in the frame sort of like a Ruger assembly for about $125 to $150. Will probably last forever.
2. You can get the part from Bob's Gun Shop in Royal, AR (found on the Internet). It will not look the same but will function perfectly, it is more robust and will cost in the $25 range. You can install it yourself if you have thumbs and some mechanical aptitude.

Thanks to all who took the time to look at my post!

Best,

Lyonheart
