Wild, you surely did pay serious attention to all those "what is best against bears?" threads. A Bren gun!!! In .303 or .308, that will be a source of great comfort when you take your fly rod out to the river. Or do you plan to provide a base-of-fire for your buddies while they fish? I personally think the .303 with the big curved magazine will have a higher Woody factor than the .308 but you are probably already locked into one caliber.

Or try this one: (They have detailed parts lists and diagrams for the Bren.)

What kind of Bren problems?

Problems...?

Well this was a mixmaster parts kit that we welded back together....the problem was it would not work semi(ie a single shot)....what we did (or I should say Steve our shop foreman) was to legnthen the gas tube a bit...bingo, it runs..

Gonna fire it up on Sunday, it looks like Frankenstein with the weld marks..but the dealer we made it for does not care...still needs to be tuned a bit...

What a beast!

Thanks for all the links!
