its made to be fired with 209 Primers .

There's something about it being a progressive burning smokeless powder.
Also it seems to require a very good seal to deliver peak velocity that tight fitting sabots provide.
The powder is not a slouch in rifles and basically rivals 777 along with additional benefits.

Nor do I think that conversion cylinders are the best to use in these Revolvers . Not sure what SERIOUS use means to you I guess ? Hunting ?
I love cap and ball just as much or more than conversion cylinder and BP cartridge or modern smokelss in them too . Probably more actualy jsut in cap and ball , its just more fun , dirty , messy , smelly , smokey , fire , kabooom .:D

I think it is Blackhorn 209. Buckhorn is a CVA rifle. Pricey stuff. $37.99 for only 10 oz at Cabelas.
