S&W Mod 13 DA w/bobbed hammer

I'm getting ready to consumate a trade for an S&W Mod 13. It has a bobbed hammer that the owner did not have bobbed himself and he doesn't know if it came from the factory this way (he thinks they did ship some of them this way) or if someone had it done later. This is a 3" revolver that was made in 1993.
Does anyone know if indeed S&W made any DA only S&W13's and if so, how hard would it be to convert back to SA/DA?

I am sure S&W would have sold or modified a DAO revolver on order, but I know of no way to prove it except by a $50 factory letter.
Is it truly DAO or does it just lack a hammer spur?
(I have one each way, both gunsmith jobs.)
It could be made DA-SA but would require a new hammer and maybe a new trigger, both fitted parts.

Jim, This is truly a DA only pistol. I haven't even picked it up yet so I probably won't make any decision as to what I want to do with it until after a trip to the range. I've been told S&W didn't make a lot of the mod 13's in 3 in. and being DA only this might increase the value, but that's not really why I am getting it. Just looked to be a nice blued K frame S&W. Any ideas what it might cost to get something like that changed over to SA/DA? Trying to decide if it's even worth pursuing.

if its DAO then it was done by S&W more than likely
13/65's are great guns, 3" 4" got em all :)
doesnt add or hurt value, frankly double action only in a wheel gun is just fine, I'd buy it(depending on price) and shoot it as is.
I have a few bobbed 19's, that will have the single action.....kinda tricky to do but aint had a problem yet, also DAO will be faster(as the hammer is bobbed)
there is mention of a DAO version made for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, but I doubt it found it was back to the states. Also departments could order what ever they wanted

i have a mod. 13-2. from all my research into the 13, my cousin was issued one by the FBI, i have never seen a factory variant with bobbed hammer or DAO. it is so simple to do both of those things in the aftermarket, i doubt SW would bother except to modify a gun through its custom shop/PC.
