I recently reconnected with an old friend on facebook in the Lake Highlands, Dallas area, I need to send her to a store with a good touch for beginner females, preferably female staffed, to handle, train, and shoot. Any good shops?

Have Her check out www.dallaspistol.com

My Wife and several other female shooters participate in this club and she can problebly learn more from them than someone who works at a gunstore.

I always liked this store when I lived in Plano. It's located on I30 in Garland IIRC.

The Bullet Trap (http://www.bullettrapinc.com/) - may not be the closest but they do a lot of new shooter training in their indoor range.

Lake Highlands...nice area.

Have her take a look at www.dentoncountysports.com, run by THR member Greybeard.

I second the recommendation for Denton County Sports. Greybeard did a wonderful job training my wife.

+1 on bullet trap. they have lady's night on Wed night where ladies have $5 range fees. The range officers are out in force those days to help people out those days as there are many new female shooters.

they have always treated my wife well when she is looking around the shop. There are definitely employees there that know their stuff, and those that know less. usually you can sniff those guys out pretty quick.

they also have a very good selection of rental guns if she wants to try something out.

If this person gets into shooting...ask them about their basic shooter membership. They don't advertise it, but its just $60/year and drops range fees to $7.

The only bad things is that while the range is indoors, the range is not air conditioned... it can get pretty hot in there.
