At one point I had researched these and sold a few but I still have a few antique bayonets sitting around. Does anyone know about these? I know the circular scabbard is for a bayonet for a French Lebel rifle. Anyone know anything more?

(both pics are of the same items)

The first bayonet, second item down in the first picture, appears to be from a Swiss Vetterli-Vitali rifle. No idea on the others.

I.D.ing socket bayonets from just a photo is nearly impossible.

There are about as many varieties of them as there are snowflakes.

Most should have some sort of acceptance stamp or makers mark, or something on them to give a least a clue.

I think you were right about the Swiss Vetterli. The bayonet has what seems to be an asterisk, an H, and an imprint that looks like a little wrench on the curve before the blade starts.

The scabbard is for a French Lebel rifle.

The two remaining bayonets with similar sockets but slightly different lengths are both marked "U.S." and seem to be one of the designs that came right before the civil war.
