Looking for the sticky/FAQ on how the infraction system works

Cannot seem to find it.
I have two infractions (one for typing "IBTL"). Is it 3 strikes and you're out or what?
I looked under "Rules"; I looked under "FAQs", and looked for stickies in this subforum and cannot seem to find a description of the system.
Seems like a good system; I'd just like to know the fragility & depth of the eggshells I'm walking on.

It's not a three strike thing. It is a little more complicated than that and we are still working out some details. PM me more for information about your particular case.
When we are finished tweaking it, we will be able to provide a better explanation of how it works.

I have two infractions This could be a sign that you'd be well served to more closely observe the rules of the forum.
Just sayin.....

In Before Thread Lock. Basically, when threads come up which serve no purpose, or contains sensitive subject matter that everyone knows that the thread will be locked, yet still feel the need to chime in.

Dr. Tad I am surprised. I don't even have one...yet. I guess the first Thursday thing is working out for me. Of course I have a 1/10th of your posts

You mean like the rule that says I can't say "In before the lock" but you can say "In after the lock" because you're a mod?

IATL == I Am The Lock. I use it sparingly, but occasionally when I just don't have the time to type in all of the various reasons in which the thread might have failed to live up to the mission statement of THR. ;)
IBTL is annoying and inappropriate for many reasons; it adds no signal, and it demonstrates that the poster KNEW that the thread was headed downhill and yet didn't bother to either type in anything to try to get it back on track nor report the post so that the mods could try to save it.

it adds no signal
And "I AM the lock" does?
Sorry, but I see it as a double standard (albeit a minor one)

It lets you know who locked the thread. That's its purpose. If you want to debate this further, please do so via PM.
ETA - I could do the obiquitous 'Enough' when I close a thread, but I chose 'IATL' in an effort to try and soften things a bit and make the moderation seem less, well, parental. Were I you, I would not choose to get my nose bent out of shape over something intended to be lighthearted and which has absolutely zero bearing on the moderation of the site itself. When I lock a thread, I'm gonna lock it. I can close it with 'ENOUGH!', 'IATL', or 'IshkabibbleSchmecklyGooblatz!', and the end result is exactly the same. I sometimes choose 'IATL', usually when I don't want to see too harsh.

I see nothing to debate, you're the mod, you win.
It's irritating to me, but it's not the hill I want to die on.
