I'm thinking of getting into it again. I shoot my Glock 27 a lot and my Ruger P90. I had an RCBS Rockchucker back then.

What the best equipment now, easy to use and best carbide dies etc.?

Most volume pistol shooters these days use progressives.
Dillon is the industry standard, but RCBS and Hornady are now, at last, making a serious effort to compete. Lee will work.

Actually, there's nothing wrong with the R.C.B.S. Rock Chucker. Fast? No. Reliable? Yep. Mine's still going strong after two decades and more. If it ever wears out, I'll probably buy another.

I use carbide dies for my pistol ammo, and some of them are way beyond 20 years old. Mostly RCBS, for no particular reason. I'm as prone to buy good used stuff as new; some of my equipment is over 50 years old and still working quite well...

If you're not shooting in match competition, there's no point in spending a ton of money on gear.

I got the Dillon SDB progressive. It was hard to wait the extra couple months to buy it versus a Lee. But, I am convinced it was the right thing to do. The press has been fabulous, and on the few occasions my actions broke a part, Dillon's service has been second to none. I've never seen a company support their product like Dillion does, and the press works awesome. I can easily load 300 rounds an hour, door to door, without rushing. It makes great use of my limited time. I think if I had bought anything else, it would be been adandoned and dusty in a corner by now. U reload with my Dillon every week, just to keep my ammo stock topped off.

You have to make a realistic appraisal of your ammo needs currently and in the future, before you buy a press. If you shoot only 1-200 rounds a week, a single stage press is certainly a little slow but very acceptable. Remember 200 rounds a week is a lot of shooting, and unless you are in a pistol league you will never shoot that much. Remember some progressives will not load all calibers that you might want to shoot.
