Hello,

as my first post on this forum I would like some assistance in identifying the revolver in the pictures below. My research hasn't yielded anything so I hope somebody is able to help. ;)

As you can see the, the barrel bears the text "COTS LONDON" or possibly "CO.TS LON DON". Looking at the marks, one possible interpretation would be the

i.e. Birmingham, 1813-1904 (LINK (http://www.shotguns.se/html/uk.html)). But it is quite difficult to tell for sure.

Looks to me to be a five-shot percussion Webley-Bentley made around 1855.
Is it a .54" bore?

This is the Birmingham proof house mark - all guns sold in Great Britain have to be proofed before they can be sold.

What ever it is I would suggest trying to stop any further rust from pitting the metal. Take off the grips and soak the revolver in a mild rust inhibitor like Break Free CLP.
