What are the OEM CCI primers that Wideners has but will only sell with a Form 6? Also what is a form 6?

ATF Form 6 is required to Impart firearms, ammunition, and implements of war into the United States or any possession thereof:

Not sure how this applies to CCI Primers though unless they are already exported or scheduled for export, and are being brought back in?

What I think it is is that you must have a manufactures licence to buy them without paying the Federal Excise tax on them.
It may also be the manufactures packaging does not include all the safety warning BS that the commercial packaging requires.
Or the packaging may not even be in english!

Seems strange that Wideners, a reloading supply house, would have CCI primers that they cannot sell to their regular reloading hobby customers.

I think they also have a thriving wholesale business to FFL dealers.

That probably adds up to way more dollars then the individual hobby sales.

As I understand from the good folks at Grafs they are the same primers. The pricing structure from CCI allows them to sell at a lower price but only to holders of the appropriate FFL license.

I`ve seen the OEM small rifle primers on shelves around here a couple times in the last month or two. I called CCI and was told they are the same as their CCI mag primer for loading purposes They are normally sold to wholesalers that feed the small ammo/reloading companies though, and not the general public. Their take on my seeing them in a gunshop was the shops wholesaler must have had some extra and decided to make a quick buck. Whom that dealer was they couldn`t or wouldn`t say, and didn`t really seem too excited about it. They did tell me they were fine to use if I wanted. Normal load work up as one should always do with every new component change was recommended.
