My favorite holster is for my S&W 637.
I made it and it's a kydex tuckable IWB.

I'm posting links because the pics are big:

What you see here is three views of a CrossBreed ( SuperTuck with a Walther PPS, the third one with some change for a sense of scale. Crossbreed also makes an OWB model called the SnapSlide, and some other IWB models, plus mag carriers, belts, and a Velcro-backed holster called (cutely) the Ohai, which is designed to stick just about anywhere, I have one on the way for MrsBFD's purse gun.
I'm not affiliated with CrossBreed in any way, except as a satisfied customer. Their product is cheaper than 3-4 off-the-shelf holsters, is custom molded, and I find it very comfortable compared to the $25 neoprene holster I started out with.

Do any of you have problems with the Serpa holster wearing the finish off of your handguns? My old service M9 was almost half black half stainless from my holster.

I had a SERPA for a 1911 for a short time. I didn't use it enough to get any wear.

However, I will say any plastic holster will wear away the gun's finish. Leather holsters will too depending on the leather, the fit, and how dirty it is.
It's just a basic fact that if you holster a gun repeatedly then it will wear.

The best thing you can do is:
-keep it clean. Plastic holster can be cleaned with hand soap and water, then let dry
-cut off/lightly trim any spots inside the holster that rub the gun excessively
-polish any scuffed spots inside the holster with 800+ grit sandpaper and polishing compound
-holster and draw it as little as possible
-if the gun moves/rattles inside the holster then ditch it and get a different one. lots of movement can wear down the contact points

This is my Sig P229R SS Elite in a Galco CON250H. Yes - it's OWB, and yes - I carry it every day, everywhere I go. Untucked shirt tails are back in style, right??

Even being a pretty heavy gun, it fits comfortably and is very easily concealed with normal clothes.

Nothing fancy, an older Lawrence 120. Basically a Threepersons type, but Keith claimed some credit in the Lawrence version. Excellent for all day carry, you can forget you have it on. Doesn't hang up on vehicle seats, chairs, the ground, etc when sitting, and out of the way when working or doing anything else.

Colt 1991A1 Commander. The holster is a "Master." An inexpensive knock-off of someone's design I'm sure. Works quite nicely. Mag pouch is from the same company IIRC.

The revolver is a Smith & Wesson Model 19, in bright nickle. The holster and belt are Smith & Wesson also. An elegant weapon for a more civilized age.

Ruger Single-Six and it's little brother the Bearcat in Ruger COWS holsters.

Milt Sparks has served me well:) Watch Six with my S&W SC Commander, now replaced with a Kimber Ultra Carry II

Springfield EMP in Galco Stinger. Lines are not scratches, but cat fur.

CajunBass, I have a Masters rig too, pretty good leather for a reasonable price.

I just go one like that today, but in brown, for my Model 19 and Colt Official Police. I order them from a place in Richmond, which is just down the road from me (Holsterama). I get two day service from them. First class outfit IMHO.

I was just about to start a new thread for the revolver holsters but found this. (I had just posted in a autoloader thread)

If you're still looking for all the details I'll stick them in...

Model 19 (4") and 48 (6") in the same 3 slot pancake open bottom holster from Gould & Goodrich.
111489 111490

That was easy, now for the hard caption....
Top Remington 1858 copy in Cabela's holster.
Faux Ivory grips: Faux 1911 (Balister-Molina) in a Bianchi nylon hoslster.
Wood grips: Beretta 96 in Strong basketweave pancake holster.
Glock 27 in G&G 3 slot pancake.
Classic Old West Styles (C.O.W.S.) 4" holster for K,L Smith or Ruger. (Too big for the K frame Model 19. The exposed trigger could be pulled with the thumb break snapped. Yike! It should be fine for L frame: 686 et al.) It's a nice fit for my N frame S&W M28.

My guns are a Bersa Thunder .380 and a Firestorm 9mm

My holster is a Dragon Leatherworks Pistol Pouch.

The gun with the wood stocks is the Thunder. Its also the one shown in the holster.

My rare LNIB Kel-Tec P40 in the "BadmanXM" IWB hoster by Lasco Leather. This holster is about as comfortable as it gets while offering the added benefit of an extra mag on board.

I also have the "Badman" version, without the "XM" (extra mag) holder, and it too is very comfortable.

Thanks NormanP11. I love 'em!!

If you want to see a really nice holster, belt and sterling silver gripped Ruger Vaquero go to the web site "" and click on cutomized products. The whole combo package is $3,400. I've seen the whole rig and it is beautiful. A little pricey for some but that's the way things are.

This is one of many that I made out of bull backstrap 1/4" thick. This was made for 1851 Colt brass frame. Sheriff model, 5 1/2 barrel.
