I got a nice sized doe (No pictures, as I have no camera) and she did not run 25 yards before she dropped. Hit her high on the front shoulder, clean pass through. I had to wait 5 minutes before she gave me a good shot. I used a .50 cal. Remington 700 ML (which I dearly love) that my wife got me a few years ago when my first son was born. I was using a Knight sabot and a Remington .45 230 gr Golden Saber Hollowpoint (.45 ACP bullet) and it did a great number on her. I will do this again! I am primarily a bow hunter as I have limited access to area that are gun zones, but I do love to muzzle loader hunt now.

Congratulations and keep up the good work. And by the way, I'm jealous. Our front loader season isn't open until next week:D

Our first one was October 18-21. I will next go November 8. That is when our modern gun season starts, but it is a shotgun (rifled slug) only zone. We are also allowed to use muzzleloaders, which I prefer over rifled slugs for accuracy's sake. I was recently given a T/C Renegade so I hope to get another one with a more traditional rifle later, if I don't snag a nice buck with my new compound bow! I live for hunting season.

Congratulations!
I'm venturing into black powder this year for the first time, too. Unfortunately, I have to wait a few more weeks before I get a crack at it!
