I was one persons house and they had a 38 special nubbie, it has a metal clip on the side that is used to clip on a pocket for a pocket gun. I was wanting to buy a Taurus 617 and would like to put this clip on it, that way I can carry it with no problem and no holster. Where do you find these? I have searched and can not find one. :uhoh:

Clip-Draw.
But they have never made them for off-brand guns.
You would have to use the "Universal" glue-on model on a Taurus.

If you use it you must be very careful because the trigger is exposed all the time. Never carry it with anything else in the pocket.

Practice, practice, practice drawing the weapon while it's unloaded. You have to learn to keep your finger off the trigger until the weapon is free from the pocket and your target is in your sights.

If you were to draw your weapon in a high stress situation (such as defending yourself) with your finger on the trigger and it got hung up on your pocket you could have a negligent disharge and possibly shoot yourself or a bystander.

While this mode of carry may seem convenient it is one of the most dangerous ways to carry a loaded pistol. I would recomend a good holster that covers the complete trigger housing and learn to live with the extra thickness that it adds to your firearm.

Be safe!

Thanks for the advice I may should put it in a holster. I would then carry it in the front and not in the pocket. What do think of carrying it in the front and not in the pocket? would it be safer that way?

I believe the 'Clip Draw' is intended for clipping onto one's Trouser Waist band in an IWB mode...not for clipping onto or inside a Pocket.

Nissan, the fact that you're a new poster does not mean that you're new to firearms. You may have years of experience, so please don't be insulted by my comments.

But if you are newer to the shooting sports, consider using a good holster that covers the trigger. Weird things happen and accidental discharges are more likely when the trigger is not covered.
