I was wondering if anyone has done any tests on these rounds to see how well the penetrate and go through clothing. I'm thinking about using them for a personal defense round and from the specs they seem pretty good. The flex-tip would keep them from getting plugged and at 140gr doing 1440fps (not sure the barrel length used to get that number) they seem like a good balance between speed and weight. I wouldn't have a problem using this load on whitetails at close range so i figure it should work well on bad guys too. What do you think?

the flex tip is not to keep the nose cavity from getting plugged up. It is only there to create an aerodynamic profile for better ballistics, and to prevent possible slam fires in magazine tubes. From what ive actually seen of the bullets, the flex tip actually helps improve expansion much like the corbon powerball or the EFMJ bullets.

I bought a box to shoot through my 340 m&p. Wow...very serious recoil. I still have the factory grips but have ordered the CT 405, maby they will help.
