Putting together some LBE for hiking. I already have the pistol belt, but I am wondering whether the H-straps or Y-straps are better.
The backpacker in me guesses that the H-straps are better, particularly when using a buttpack.

Well, back when I was usin' 'em, I liked the H-harness (M-1950?)better. Seemed more stable and did work better with the butt pack. Most of the H - harness were cotton duck webbing. Some of the very late production made just before/during the swap to the Y - harness (TA 50) were nylon and more durable than the cotton. The cotton is quiter if it makes any difference.

Thanks...seems like there are plenty of both out there.
