I'm thinking hard about a 590A1 to compliment my 500 cruiser and my 590. Nice piece. I really like the extra 2 rounds on the Speedfeed.

When did the 590 start coming with 3-dot sights mounted on the barrel and a feed speed stock? I had an older 500mils with the same setup except for the sights and that mag extension works great. What brand side saddle is that?

it's a tacstar. I always go with Tacstar. I can't vouch for the rest of their products, but their shell holder RULES. the mesa tacticals are probably very nice but I can't justify the 75 bucks on one

They're new this year.....The 3-dot sights are a "trickle-down" from the NYPD contract. All of the NYPD shotguns have the 3-dot sights so that the sight picture doesn't change from their pistols to their shotguns. They're already using these sights on some of the barrels, they might as well use 'em....

How do you like the speedfeed? I just ordered a 590 w/ the same stock. I've handled a few with that stock but never got to play with shells in it. Does it work well? I figured there wasn't any downside, if I don't like it then it just stays empty.

I've always liked them. they're really sturdy, great cheek weld, and the extra ammo slots aren't bad either. I'd honestly only ever use a Speedfeed or a Hogued reduced length of pull stock on any of my givens, given the choice and the funds.
