So I have about 200 rds of buck and slugs just sitting. I have a little extra money and would like to get a little creative and try something different than the 00 buck/slug monotny. Any ideas? centurion multi defense? #4 buck? Dragon's Breath (lol)?

How about some mundane basic birdshot and a trip to a local sporting clays course where you can try to hit targets of various sizes and distances moving at angles not thought possible?.....NEVER a boring moment

I'm buying about 200 rds of 7.5 shot. I'm thinking I'll branch out and get asome #1 and #4 as well

Weirdest load I've seen so far involves a stack of dimes.

Supposed to spread fast.

Supposed to be good for werewolves, too.

#4 buck for faster moving big targets. birdshot for really faster moving small targets.

I really like Centurian's Multi load, its very accurate and im guessing a 60+caliber ball is fairly fatal to whatever its shot at.

Not weird but far less common, #1 and 000 are my buckshot sizes of choice.

You could DIY some custom rounds using your existing stash. I would be careful doing this and ensure you dont have a choke and verify whatever you load up those shells with will exit the bore safely. Of course, this is for informational purposes only! Try at your own risk!

I have played around w/ rock salt, cayenne pepper, ball bearings (metal and rubber) and nuts (as in nuts and bolts).

I then decided to leave well enough alone.

Have fun and be safe!

I have seen fletchess(darts), powdered metal door breaching loads, exploding, flash bombs, dragons breath, pepper spray, mace, and tear gas, rubber buckshot, rubber slug, bean bag, confetti, Buck& Ball/Buck& Slug, Macho Gaucho(metal wire between 2 large balls),tracer slug,Armor Piercing slug, double slug, two different size buck,(Rhodesian Jungle) buck & bird shot, Piranha(metal shavings),blanks, flame thrower, and Incendiary/flare just to name a few. The military has a 12g shell that launches a grenade.

to each there own but i dont think most of those rounds are worth the extra money ill stick to comercial loads of 00 and 000 buck 7 1/2 bird and slugs of various natures i have been curious about the "specialty loads" but most are so expencive per shot i cant justify them

if your looking for just some fun shooting id suggest as previoulsy mentioned shooting some trap/skeet/5 stand etc... worth the money IMHO vs. the specialty loads

P.S. the dragons breath loads are bad for barrels so use them at your own risk and not frequently

years ago you could buy bird bomb 12 guage shot gun shells.Looked ;ike regular shells but when shot would go about 100 yards then go bang real loud. But was very corrosive in nature.

cheaper than dirt had these dart devices, flechettes (sp?) I believe. you can buy them by the pound. The y look like finishing nails with fins on the tail end. Bet those would be an interesting 3" mag load.

Flechettes and ballistic gel (http://www.thehighroad.org/showpost.php?p=4060278&postcount=1)

These are pretty interesting, but I can't imagine having to defend the use of these to a jury.

Warning! If using stacked dime loads to kill a werewolf, make CERTAIN that you use pre-1964 dimes. Newer dimes are not silver and will NOT stop a werewolf!:neener:

Maybe load some random trash around your house into a shotshell. Say a doritos wrapper. Maybe a mixture of peanut butter and egg nog. Some small diameter machine nuts.

It may not stop someone, but it would sure as heck confuse them!

Try paint balls and see what happens. If they make the barrel they should splash good when they hit.
