Ok , Im new to ARs
I have a dpms 16 in bull barrell.
I bought a free float tube to put on it, and here where my problem begains...
How do you take off the barrel nut with the delta ring so I can replace it with the new one for the free float tube?
I have the wrench, but it seems very tight.
I tried turning it to no avail.
Is there some way to hold the barrell and reciver? Am i just not putting enough pressure on it?
I put as much as possable on it haveing a friend try to hold it?
I Have been at my local gunsmith/gun shop all afternoon trying to change this.
He knows little about an AR.
Any help would be greatly appreacaited.

how do you plan on getting the barrel nut over the front sight base?

If it is a bull barrel like on the Lo-Pro Classic, there is no front sight. The gas block just attaches to the barrel with two set screws through the bottom. I've been thinking about free floating my Low-Pro too.

one can wrench the barrel nut off by sitting on the sholder stock crosslegged with the barrel over your leg

there is also a vice "action block" that armorers use

I have already taken the gas block off, so there isent anything in the way.
I`m just not sure about the nut.
