Show us more show us more. You know what i like that slot on the right side. That would for sure make it easier to use a capper as well as a nipple pick while the cylinder is still on the revolver

There's not much to the forcing cone of those old pistols, is there?

How many years did it take them to get to this serial number? BTW... the same number is all over this piece. And... I tried to get as many of the stampings as I could when I was taking pix. Still interested in seein' more? :D

As a matter of fact, it is located in Bothell. We sharin' the same neck of the concrete woods?

Went to the range yesterday and half way through, wasn't feelin' too sharp. Got home, and last night, found out I had a fever of 101... so I went to bed early. Still have a bit of a temp, but feeling better... here' the rest of the story as I know it.

Store owner knows the family this gun belongs to, it's been in their family for about 70yrs. that he can tell. He thinks it's got a manufacturing date of about 1862. I'd've loved to've bought it... but, no can do right now. The action was just as smooth as silk and the gun appears to function just fine. I grabbed the camera to try and get as many pix as I could of various angles and stamping marks to help out those who seem to take particular note of such things.

It was a real joy to get a chance to handle/take apart a fine piece of history... I just wish I could've asked that old gun a boat load of questions.

BTW... the shop owner here (pawn shop) seems to be good people. I bought my .54 Renegade and my 1858 NMA from him. This puppy is currently for sale.

He also has a revolver stock for sale for about $97.00. Both ears (brass) have cracks in them, and the left ear face is pretty beat up.

Another one I saw was a DGW flintlock pistola in .62 (if my rememberer is working right). He's got a fairly good assortment of BP. There's a Shilo Sharps on the wall, a Springfield Trap Door too.

Yeah... seein' the price tag on it sort of hampered my lust just a bit. Sure was fun to look it over and take it apart though.

I seem to think so, I'm in Everett. I've visited that store a number of times, always seem to have a good variety of guns on hand & at reasonable prices too usually.
